We're down to the last few months before our big adventure begins. All the preparations we're making feel like an adventure in itself! Retiring, selling our house, moving, and now getting ready to move aboard a boat - it's been a whirlwind of activity.
Introducing SV Luthien
SV Luthien. She's not just any boat; she's a 2011 Leopard 46 catamaran. This beauty has been exceptionally cared for by her previous owners, and we're committed to continuing that tradition. What's even more exciting is that SV Luthien has already proven herself by taking her first owners on their very own circumnavigation.
Knowing that the vessel has a successful track record gives us great confidence as we embark on our own adventure. We can't wait to create our own memories and explore the world aboard SV Luthien.
Getting Todd and Terri Ready
Now that we have our dream boat, it's time to get ourselves ready for this incredible journey. Todd and Terri have been busy preparing for the adventure of a lifetime.
First and foremost, we've been gathering all the necessary supplies and equipment. From safety gear to navigation tools, we want to ensure we're fully equipped for any situation that may arise on the open seas.
We've also been brushing up on our sailing skills. While we have some experience, we want to make sure we're confident in handling SV Luthien in various weather conditions. We've been taking refresher courses and spending time practicing our maneuvers to ensure we're ready for whatever comes our way.
Another important aspect of our preparation is learning about the different destinations we plan to visit. We want to immerse ourselves in the local culture, explore hidden gems, and make the most of our time in each place. Researching the best anchorages, local customs, and must-see attractions has been a fun and exciting part of our journey so far.
